New born
Just wanted to say congratulations to Dan, Ellen, Hannah, and Simon for their newest family member; Seth Daniel Grisinger (born 2/22/2006).
Ups and downs of being a contractor
Sometimes its great to be able to go into work in the middle of the night and get things done when you can’t sleep. Instead of tossing and turning, just start billing.
On the other hand, it sucks when the reason you can’t sleep is because a bogus error-checking report paged you and got you out of bed in the first place.
The Fort
Due to insufficient planning on my part for that ultimate of Hallmark holidays (Valentine’s Day) we celebrated a day early. I neglected to make dinner reservations until last just over a week ago, and predictably the places we wanted to go were booked up. So we went a night early.
Anyhow, I can’t say enough about how fantastic the food at The Fort is. Excellent steaks (Beef, Elk Bison), fish, deserts, everything. The only notable gotcha is a lack of vegetarian fare. From what I recall there is only one or two completely vegetarian options along with only one fish option (for those fish-isn’t-meat vegetarians like my wife).
The best part? They were only around 1/2 full tonight.
26 Week Ultrasound
* NOT FOUND *Today was Tiff’s 26 week ultrasound. Not much in the way of news this time, just pictures really. The baby is currently in the 50% percentile for growth (exactly average) and everything looks good. No blood pressure issues, no large baby issues, nothing.
Thus far none of the things the doctors have been watching for have happened. Lets hope this remains the case.
As for house prep, I’m almost done with painting the nursery. Right now its just a bit of touch up work and it’ll be finished.
No Fly Watch List
So, in addition my name being on the no fly watch list, it seems that anyone with my first and last name matches. They aren’t even expanding it out to middle initial.
My parents took a flight to Wisconsin this morning and had to go through the extra ‘are you cleared to fly’ dance at checkin. We share first and last name, but not middle.
Seems like a pretty high false positive rate would come out of that…
